Championships today, starting at 11 a.m. Admission is free. BC is ranked No. 7 in the latest state poll compiled by the California Community College Wrestling Coaches Association. Also competing today will be West Hills, Cuesta and Rio Hondo. Rio Hondo is ranked No. 12, Cuesta is No. 15 and West Hills is not ranked. Times for the duals are 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. BC has six ranked wrestlers, including top-ranked A.J. Smith (174 pounds) and Brad Carls (197). But BC coach Bill Kalivas said Smith (ankle) and Carls (leg) are injured and may not compete today. Other ranked wrestlers from BC are Vince Rivera, No. 8 at 133; Bryce Horton, No. 8 at 157; Alvaro Zemeno, No. 6 at 165; and Zeth Weldon, No. 5 at 184. |
