Instructional Telecourses Provide
A Practical Alternative to Classroom instruction...
Telecourses offer flexibility to students who wish to enroll in a college course but are unable
to come to Bakersfield College on a regular basis. These college-credit courses fit into the
busiest of schedules, enabling students with full-time jobs and family responsibilities to
advance their careers and education without sacrificing other important things in life.
Two lessons are broadcast weekly on cable TV except for the Summer session which will have 6 lessons per week.. Each lesson is shown once in the morning and once in the evening except for the Summer session when it is only broadcast once a day. Broadcast times will be announced at Orientation Meetings and are listed on the Extended Learning website. Tapes of all broadcasts are available in the BC Library (661-395-4461) and the Delano Campus. All reviews and examinations are held at the BC. Dates and times are announced at the orientation.
An Educational Experience Comparable to Classroom Instruction and Traditional
College Courses...
Telecourses are sophisticated television productions designed collaboratively with academic
experts and instructional designers. In addition to video lessons and text materials,
students MAY participate in special lecture/discussion sessions, review
sessions, and examinations held on the BC campus - all of which contribute
to a positive learning experience. Instructors are available both by telephone,
email, and in
person, by arrangement, to help students achieve their goals.
Information on course transferability is available in the College Catalog.
Required Class Meetings

final review and final exam. Students will be notified at the
orientation meetings if there
