Title V

Title V Learning Services  Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) grant awarded to BC in 2002.  General Focus:  Improved Access, Retention, and Success for Hispanic, low income, and other under-prepared and under represented Bakersfield College students Through Career-based Learning Communities and Student Success Systems. 

Title V Cooperative BC and CSUB  HSI grant awarded to BC and CSUB in 2003 - CSUB is grant Administrator. General Focus:  Cooperative curriculum Alignment and integration of Services and systems to improve Access to higher education (CASA) for Hispanic and other low-income students.

General Focus: Building faculty and institutional evaluation capacity through Communities of Learning  and Integrated Practice (CLIPS) at community colleges. Nursing Grants/Contracts (Updated 9/2/2005)   Grant Administrator: Cindy Collier

Regional Collaborative Project – (Fall 03-Fall 05) Provides administrative support associated with offering the Distance Education Nursing Program to West Hills College, Porterville College and the Delano Campus (with additional support from San Joaquin Valley Health Consortium and Kern Family Health Care).  Total Funds = $210,000 -COMPLETE-

San Joaquin Valley Health Consortium- (9/1/02-8/31/05) Provides support to increase diversity into nursing, improve retention and recruitment in the nursing program.  Also provides support for the collaboration for the Distance Education Nursing Program (along with Kern Family Healthcare and the Regional Collaborative Project). Total Grant Funds = $400,494, -COMPLETE-

Kern Family Health Care – (9/1/02-8/31/06) Provides monetary support for the infrastructure of the Distance Education Project (along with Regional Collaborative Project and San Joaquin Valley Health Consortium). Total Grant Funds = $842,440 -ACTIVE-

Kaiser/CHW – (Spring 02- Fall 04) Provides for expansion of the ADN program by adding cohort of 10 additional students during the Spring 02, Fall 02, and Spring 03 semesters. Total Grant Funds = $169,983 -COMPLETE-

Hospital Council – (Fall 03-Fall 06) Provides for continued expansion of the ADN program by adding cohort of 10 students during the Fall 03, Spring 04, Fall 04, and Spring 05 semesters. Total Grant Funds $247,319.96  -ACTIVE-

Chancellor’s Grant – (2/1/02-6/30/04) Supports expansion of the ADN Program.  Total Grant Funds = $147,302 -Original grant COMPLETE- However, a second Chancellor's Grant totaling $203,330 was received and is -ACTIVE-
