AUGUST-SEPTEMBER:
q Visit the Transfer Center in the Counseling Office (located in the Student Services Building) for latest information on all CSU/UC campuses.
q Transfer Admission Agreements (TAA): Guarantee your admission to your transfer school! See a counselor for eligibility requirements and criteria. TAAs are available with 8 schools: UC Davis, Merced, Santa Barbara, Riverside, Santa Cruz, San Diego, Irvin and CSU Northridge! Deadlines for agreements to be submitted are September and October, so make your appointment today with Sue Granger-Dickson, Transfer Counselor— (661) 395-4421.
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER:
q November 30 is the deadline to submit a CSU/UC Application for Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships, available online at:
1.) CSU APPLICATION: http://www.csumentor.edu
CSU filing periods: Applications for Fall are accepted October 1 – November 30 of the prior year; New! Applications for Winter and Spring are currently available for CSUB only.
2.) UC APPLICATION: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergradapp/
UC filing periods Fall: November 1 – November 30; No mid-year transfers at this point in time.
** IMPORTANT: Check your e-mail regularly. Campuses increasingly use e-mail to send critical, time-sensitive correspondence to applicants.
JANUARY-FEBRUARY:
q File or renew your Federal Financial Aid (Pell Grant) Application (FAFSA) designating the CSU or UC planned date of attendance by mailing the application in the envelope enclosed in the packet or electronically on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov Apply for the _____________ academic year. Remember, you must submit or renew your application each academic year. Available to begin applying January 1st. Priority filing date is March 2nd. Keep in mind; this takes 3-4 months to process, so apply early! Check the CSU or UC website for the Federal School Code.
q Begin looking for housing options at your potential CSU/UC.
q CSUs and UCs begin admission notifications. You will need to make your final decision, and accept the offer, state your intent to register, or decline the offer.
MAY/JUNE
q Complete spring classes and send official transcripts to the CSU/UC of your choice. Transcripts should be mailed to the Undergraduate Admissions Office unless otherwise stated.
qIf you have not already done so, attend a summer advising registration and orientation program at your chosen CSU/UC so you may register for classes.
q Submit official transcripts of courses taken in the summer to your CSU/UC. Important: request certification from the transcript office at Bakersfield College for lower division general education using the CSU or IGETC pattern after all grades are recorded.
q Begin classes at your CSU/UC.
